Burial - Untrue

i've discovered Burial.

Listening to his second album "Untrue", I've come to the conclusion that the album sounds like someone at the top of a Cabrini-Green stairwell hearing someone playing anonymous R&B somewhere downstairs. Burial has taken out ambient noise like shouts and gunfire, and left this echoing, muted, desperately sad sound. It's not all despairing, but it's pretty bleak. Burial is from London, which has its share of dilapidated public housing projects. It's not music for everyone, but the more I hear it the better I understand it. I feel this way sometimes. I think this is a sound I've been looking for, to mirror my sad afternoons.

Burial is anonymous. Few know he even makes music. I'm not concerned with all that, knowing him or understanding where he's coming from. I only want the music.
