spoon - ga ga ga ga ga
i don't know spoon's older stuff, but the new spoon sounds like wilco's "summerteeth" album with less country. it's subtly experimental and cleanly produced. the songs are tight and slightly catchy. lyrically it's mostly intriguing, though a few lines in a few songs seem to fumble when trying to find new ways to say old things. the songs are quietly layered, with each basic track opening to reveal low-key quirks and tweaks. it's a pop rock record perfect for headphones.
